It was the day before winter and all through the town,
Not a bike could be heard, no rumbling sound.
I sit at the window and look at the snow,
What a beautiful sight, but I wish it would go.
I visit the bike tucked safely away,
Waiting for that first warm spring day.
I start it up and let the engine go around,
And take in its wonderful sweet sound.
When old man winter brings his ice and snow,
Four wheels is the only way I can go.
As I wait out the long winter days,
I dream and plan of my summer get away.
For now my face I wear a frown,
But the winter season will not get me down.
Soon I know I will be back in the seat,
Complaining about the summer heat.

Riff Raff Christmas Party |

On December 6th we hosted our first Christmas Party complete with DJ and dancing. There were approximately 18 Riff Raff and 8 from Chapter B as well. And there was a lot of food. Some people cancelled at the last minute due to illness so we had a lot of food - from salads to munchies, to main courses and everything in between. Lu’s brother-in-law made a special Riff Raff cake which turned out great and was delicious!!! Dinner started at 4:00 PM and the DJ played from 5-9. Everyone had a good time, even the DJ who was up dancing with us. The building was a perfect fit for us and had everything we needed to have a good time. If you couldn’t attend this one maybe we will do it again next year only less food!!! Thanks again to everyone who helped set up, decorate and clean up. Lu and I had a really good time and I hope you did as well. |

On Saturday November 21st, 10 Riff Raff Riders met at the Starlite Diner for breakfast along with several Patriot Guard Riders. Afterward, we made our way over to the WalMart to line up for the Toy Run. I believe this was the 26th annual Toy Run and Lu & I have done it about 11 years now. We love this ride the most because it is all about the kids. It was almost 65 degrees outside which is a lot better then the 15 degree weather we had last year. Susie stayed outside the whole time. |
