Kahuna's Korner

Is there a gas crisis? These days anyone who rides a motorcycle or scooter is among the most enviable people in the country.

During the last few weeks I can’t go anywhere - the store, the sandwich shop or the gas station without someone asking me how many miles to the gallon does that get or how much does one of those cost and where can I get one. One older gentleman about 55 years old walked almost clear across the Wal-Mart parking lot just to see what brand my scooter was and then proceeded to tell me he was getting his old bike out of the barn to start riding again. When I asked him what it was he said it was a 1985, 175cc Yamaha, street and trail bike. Now I don’t know about you but that seems a little bizarre just to picture a man that age on a motocross style bike.

Gold Classic Cracker Barrel Ride
Written by Matt & Karen, Lu & Crystal
Wednesday, 30 July 2008
6/22 Matt and Karen got to the Cracker Barrel dry and Lu and Crystal brought the rain with them, but by the time we finished breakfast the rain had stopped. We hit the road getting onto I-78 with it still looking like it might rain but by the time we hit I-81, the sun came out. No rain today. We stopped in Virginia for the night. Nice little place called the Village Inn. After a little detour we arrived for the night. The Whirlpool tubs and comfy beds were just what we needed for the night.
